The Associate in Fine Arts Degree - Studio Art is designed for students who plan to transfer to a university or art school and major in art or design. This degree focuses on art foundation classes and general education requirements that will transfer to other institutions. Check with the university or art school you plan to attend for more details. General Education Requirements


Humanities - Studio Art Option (8 credits)


Courses must be taken in more than one academic discipline

Social Science (8 credits)


Courses must be taken in more than one academic discipline

  • Complete any 100 level or higher Social Science course Credits 8 / 8 Contact Hours

Mathematics (3-4 credits)


  • * Test out by placing into MATH 130  or higher on the MCC Placement Test OR Complete any 100 level or higher Mathematics course. Check transfer institution for math requirement. Credits 3-4 / 3-4 Contact Hours

Additional Associate in Fine Arts Requirement (4-8 credits)


  • Complete any 100 level or higher Natural Science course(s) - Courses must be taken in more than one academic discipline and one course must have a lab Credits 4-8 / 4-8 Contact Hours

*Students who test out of Math will need to complete an addtional 4 credits of Natural Science / Mathematics to meet the MACRAO transfer requirements.

  1. No more than 50% of credits required in specialized course work, unique to a program, can be transferred from another institution to be applied toward graduation from Mott Community College.
  2. Cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0
