The Associate in Fine Arts Degree - Music is designed for students who plan to transfer to a university, college, or conservatory and major in music. Focus is on music foundation classes and general education requirements that will transfer to other institutions. General Education Requirements


Humanities - Music Option (8 credits)


Courses must be taken in more than one academic discipline

Social Science (8 credits)


Courses must be taken in more than one academic discipline

  • Complete any 100 level or higher Social Science course Credits 8 / 8 Contact Hours

Mathematics (3-4 credits)


  • * Test out by placing into MATH 130  or higher on the MCC Placement Test OR Complete any 100 level or higher Mathematics course. Check transfer institution for math requirement. Credits 3-4 / 3-4 Contact Hours

Additional Associate in Fine Arts Requirement (4-8 credits)


  • Complete any 100 level or higher Natural Science course(s) - Courses must be taken in more than one academic discipline and one course must have a lab Credits 4-8 / 4-8 Contact Hours

Recommended Elective Courses - Music Option


  • Any MUS. course in addition to those taken to meet degree requirements

*Students who test out of Math will need to complete an additional 4 credits of Natural Science/Mathematics to meet the MACRAO transfer requirements.

Notes:


  1. No more than 50% of credits required in specialized course work, unique to a program, can be transferred from another institution to be applied toward graduation from Mott Community College.
  2. Cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0
