MATH-120 Intermediate AlgebraCredits 4 / 4 Contact Hours Pre-requisite (effective Fall 2018): Placement into RDNG-030 (ACSR-030) or successful completion of RDNG-016 or ACLT-074 with a minimum grade of 3.0. MATH-082 with a minimum grade of 2.0 or placement into MATH-120 . This course is intended for the student who has had one year of High School Algebra or MATH-082 Beginning Algebra . Topics include linear rational and quadratic functions system of equations inequalities polynomials exponents roots and radicals and logarithms.
Course Outcomes 1. Expand the student’s knowledge of topics encountered in elementary algebra 2. Prepare the student for college algebra and trigonometry 3. Expose the student to applications of intermediate algebra to related fields.
