Surgical Technology A.A.S.

The Collaborative Surgical Technology Consortium program model allows for both apprentices and traditional college students to attain an Associate Applied Science in degree Surgical Technology and sit for the National board exam. Students will take their didactic courses online as a cohort, through both synchronous and asynchronous instruction models. Lab and Clinical education will be dependent on student location. The program is designed to meet the needs of employers.

Upon successful completion of the first two semesters of the program students will be eligible to sit for the Sterile Processing certification exam.

NOTE: Students with a CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certificate may be awarded 11 credit hours toward the Surgical Technology AAS degree. The 11 credit hours awarded would be for AHLT-102, SURG-101, SURG-102  and SURG-103. Students certified in Basic Life Support/CPR may be awarded one additional credit hour for HEAL-125 toward the Surgical Technology AAS degree.

Computer Competency Requirement


Beginning 2016, demonstration of computer competency is a degree requirement at Mott Community College

Computer competency can be demonstrated by one of two ways:

NOTE: Some programs require taking COMG-153; for these programs, the Test-Out option is not available. For those programs that do not require COMG-153, the competency test-out option is available and can be taken in the Academic Testing Center, located on the 3rd floor of the Mott Library.
