The Health and Fitness Professional, A.A.S. program will prepare students for professional positions within the Health and Fitness industry. Course work includes health, wellness and nutritional concepts and theory, fitness training concepts and applied training skills, business management training, and seminar/internship experience. The student will be prepared to work with clients on-on-one to maintain healthy lifestyle and wellness goals, manage fitness programs or facilities, advise athletes, pursue continued education, and to promote sporting events or teams.

Upon completion, students will be prepared to sit for licensure exams approved by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) in the area of personal training and/or group fitness instructor through an accredited organization.

Computer Competency Requirement


Beginning 2016, demonstration of computer competency is a degree requirement at Mott Community College

Computer competency can be demonstrated by one of two ways:

NOTE: Some programs require taking COMG-153; for these programs, the Test-Out option is not available. For those programs that do not require COMG-153, the competency test-out option is available and can be taken in the Academic Testing Center, located on the 3rd floor of the Mott Library.
