This program qualifies graduates for entry-level jobs in accounting. Students will have knowledge of typical accounting situations to be expected in a computerized accounting environment or in small and medium sized businesses. Graduates will be able to successfully compete for positions in accounting areas such as payroll, cost, taxes, payables and receivables. They may have supervisory responsibilities as office managers and staff accountants under the supervision of a head accountant, controller or treasurer.

If you are planning to transfer to a four-year college or university with the AAS in Accounting, the MTA agreement requires that students successfuly complete MATH 115 , MATH 130 or higher.

Computer Competency Requirement
Beginning 2016, demonstration of computer competency is a degree requirement at Mott Community College
Computer competency can be demonstrated by one of two ways:
NOTE: Some programs require taking COMG-153; for these programs, the Test-Out option is not available. For those programs that do not require COMG-153, the competency test-out option is available and can be taken in the Academic Testing Center, located on the 3rd floor of the Mott Library.
