NRSG-110 Foundations of Patient CareCredits 8 / 4 Contact Hours Prerequisites: Division signature required; Must have completed all program eligibility and admissions requirements and been approved for admission into the program; Placement into ENGL-100 (ACSR-100) or successful completion of RDNG-030 , ACLT-075 , ACLT-076 or a minimum score of 20 on the reading portion of the ACT. Pre-requisite: AHLT-112 , AHLT-135 , NRSG-100 with a minimum GPA of 2.0 Must have completed all program eligibility and admissions requirements and have been approved for admission in the program. Division signature required Co-requisite: NRSG-110C , NRSG-110L and NRSG-110M Note: Student must provide student uniform and stethoscope Pre- or Co-requisite: NRSG-105 This is the first course in the clinical sequence of the Nursing Program. It is composed of four inter-related components: theory skills lab medication administration lab and clinical. The course will introduce the student to the essential elements of the practice of nursing and patient care. It provides the basic foundation on which all areas of nursing and patient care are built. The nursing process will be introduced and applied to patients having basic health problems that put them at risk for major health issues. The clinical component of this course will take place in long-term care and acute care settings.
