ENGL-232 American Literature 1865 to present

Pre-requisite: Placement into ACRD-090, ACRD-091 or ACRD-092, completion of ELAP-110 with a minimum grade of 2.0, or successful completion of ACRD-080; Successful completion of ENGL-101  or ENGL-103  with a grade of 2.0 or higher.
This course examines the development of American literature from the end of the Civil War to the present day, featuring selected essays, autobiographical writings, poems, fiction, and drama. Through critical reading and analysis, students will deepen their understanding of how literature is informed by and interrogates historical events, cultural forces, and worldviews.
