SOCW-260A Social Work Practicum

Credits 1 / 1 Contact Hours
Pre-requisite: Placement into ACRD-090, ACRD-091 or ACRD-092, completion of ELAP-110 with a minimum grade of 2.0, or successful completion of ACRD-080; SOCW-134 with a minimum grade of 2.0.
This course will provide practical experiences in social agencies in the community. Students will apply academic concepts and acquired skills to a work situation under supervision of a qualified agency representative. Students can expect placements during daytime hours. Only the
placement site selected by the coordinator will be honored. The agency has the final right to screen accept reject and/or terminate student participants. Students are expected to follow the accepted code of ethics of the profession and adhere to policies of the placement agency.
