MATH-150 Probability and StatisticsCredits 4 / 4 Contact Hours Pre-requisite: Placement into ACRD-090, ACRD-091 or ACRD-092, completion of ELAP-110 with a minimum grade of 2.0, or successful completion of ACRD-080; MATH 120 , MATH-123 or MATH-118 with 2.0 or higher, or MATH 115 with a 3.0 or higher, or placement into MATH-130. This course is an introduction to elementary probability and statistics. It addresses concepts as applied to the sciences, business and social science fields. Topics covered will include descriptive statistical ones such as graphs and numerical measures and inferential statistical ones on various aspects of Estimation and Hypothesis testing.
Course Outcomes 1. Introduce students to the fundamental mathematical ideas underlying the theory of probability and statistical inference 2. Introduce students to topics in descriptive and inferential statistics.
