ECED-203 Learning Env: Infants and Toddlers

Credits 3 / 5 Contact Hours
Pre-requisite: Placement into RDNG-030 (ACSR-030), completion of ELAP-110 with a minimum grade of 2.0, or successful completion of RDNG-016 or ACLT-074 with a minimum grade of 3.0. Pre-requisite: ECED-101 or ECED-110 with minimum grade of 2.0; Students must have current Child Abuse/Neglect Central Registry (CA/NR) clearance obtained from the Michigan Department of Human Services to be presented in the first class. A copy must be on file in the Fine Arts/Social Sciences Office, MMB 2005.  Students must meet all state licensing health requirements prior to start of their lab experience.  Must have transportation to/from lab worksite.  
This course will help develop an understanding of the programs and activities needed to be implemented which match the developmental needs of infants and toddlers. The course will also include discussion and practice in designing appropriate environments for infants and toddlers. A required 45 hour lab experience in an approved infant/toddler setting is included in this course. The lab site and college faculty will provide field supervision.
