ECED-205 Field Work

Credits 4 / 4 Contact Hours
Pre-requisite: Placement into RDNG-030 (ACSR-030), completion of ELAP-110 with a minimum grade of 2.0, or successful completion of RDNG-016 or ACLT-074 with a minimum grade of 3.0. Pre-requisite: ECED-103 , ECED-105 , ECED-200 , ECED-201 , ECED-203 , ECED-211, minimum GPA of 2.0 in these courses. Students must meet child care licensing health requirements and have current Child Abuse/Neglect Central Registry (CA/NR) clearance obtained from the Michigan Department of Human Services to be presented in the first class. A copy must be on file in the Social Sciences Office MMB 2005.
Includes 200 hours of field work at an approved program and regular seminars. Provides the student with the opportunity to demonstrate competency in the classroom. Field supervision is provided by the agency and college faculty. The program coordinator has the responsibility of securing the initial placement site for student interns. Students are expected to follow the accepted code of ethics of the profession and adhere to policies of the placement agency.
