JAPA-212 Intermediate Japanese IICredits 4 / 4 Contact Hours Pre-requisite: Placement into RDNG-030 (ACSR-030) or successful completion of RDNG-016 or ACLT-074 with a minimum grade of 3.0. Pre-requisite: Successful completion of JAPA-211 An intermediate course in Japanese with emphasis on more advanced reading writing of Japanese phonetic characters (Katakana and Hiragana) and kanji building. The study of grammar and sentence structure will continue. Students will be required to speak in Japanese.
Course Outcomes 1. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the spoken language through listening responding correctly in Japanese 2. Students will demonstrate spoken skills when creating unscripted utterances and clear sustained conversation in Japanese 3. Students will demonstrate competency in reading comprehension by reading short stories, novels, and student produced pieces in Japanese 4. Students will demonstrate continued improvement in writing skills in Japanese 5. Students will prove an increased interest in foreign culture and an all-important improved understanding of the world in which they live
