JAPA-112 Beginning Japanese IICredits 4 / 4 Contact Hours Pre-requisite: Placement into RDNG-030 (ACSR-030) or successful completion of RDNG-016 or ACLT-074 with a minimum grade of 3.0. Pre-requisite: JAPA 111 Continuation of the basic structure of Japanese. Emphasis on vocabulary and learning to write katakana and hiranga and some kanji. Converse with others in class.
Course Outcomes 1. Basic practice in conversational skills. These include listening and speaking with an emphasis on correct pronunciation, grammar, and usage of proper vocabulary 2. There will be a variety of simulated native conversations 3. There will be an emphasis on developing new vocabulary 4. This course will cover basic levels of Japanese grammatical structure and its correct usage 5. This course will discuss Japanese culture and society in order to understand the role of language in the culture 6. This class will mainly focus on different types of sentences with various sentence endings, which include numerous verb and adjective conjugations
