ARBC-112 Beginning Standard Arabic II

Credits 4 / 4 Contact Hours
 Pre-requisite: Placement into RDNG-030 (ACSR-030) or
successful completion of RDNG-016 or ACLT-074 with a
minimum grade of 3.0.Pre-requisite: ARBC-111  
Continuation of the study of standard Arabic concentrating on various dialects using verbal practice and drills. Emphasis on life and culture of Arabs in the Arab world.

Course Outcomes
1. Converse in Arabic by asking and answering questions used in daily life  2. Read more complex passages than in Arabic 111 and answer questions on them in English and increasingly in Arabic 3. Understand passages read or spoke and respond to questions in Egnlish and in arabic about the passage 4. Translate brief phrases from English to Arabic and more extensive ones from Arabic to English 5. Students will increase their knowledge and understanding of the cultural values of the Arabs 6. Students will be able to come up with skits in Arabic using the words learned
